Cobb Hill is an innovative community in rural Vermont. We are currently involved in the design and implementation of an energy monitoring system that will provide consumption data for each home.

Straw Bale Office/Warehouse

Quantex Design Inc. and RMES has begun construction of our new office/light manufacturing facility in the town's new industrial park. The structure will incorporate alternative buidling materials and systems that reduce the buidling's impact on the environment. Check here for updates.

Ecological Footprinting an Ecovillage

As part of his MA degree, Jason Whitfield is completing work on a project for the Ecovillage at Ithaca and the University of Waterloo. The project compares the ecological footprint of the residents living in the ecovillage to the average American. This type of analysis could aid planners and developers when attempting to strive for truly sustainable communities.
